NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Pfizer Inc. said Thursday that it would pay $1.4 billion to settle federal investigations into Pfizer Inc.'s patent litigation related to the drug Celebrex.

The move by the pharmaceutical giant to settle the investigations by agreeing to pay $1.4 billion will allow the drugmaker to make payments in the future to settle potential patent infringement suits brought by Pfizer Inc. in the United States. Pfizer and its pharmaceuticals industry has been accused of using its drugs to boost sales of prescription drugs.

"Today's agreement is the largest pharmaceutical agreement ever struck by an industry with a strong and growing presence in the U. S. market," Pfizer said in a statement.

The company said it is "continuing to pursue and settle pending cases involving the development of Celebrex," and will pay "a total of $2.5 billion to settle pending litigation involving Pfizer Inc.'s Celebrex," the statement said.

Pfizer said the settlement "remains in part a settlement of pending litigation involving the development and use of Celebrex and related drugs," and will pay the remaining $1.4 billion to resolve patent infringement cases. It will also pay $1 billion in interest and penalties to settle pending investigations.

Pfizer said it will continue to pay to resolve patent disputes between the two companies. But the company said it will continue to pay other pharmaceutical companies such as Bayer and Teva and other companies who are in a class B of the class, which means that Pfizer will no longer pay $2.5 billion to resolve the class and any liability on behalf of those other companies. Pfizer has been in a class A of the class.

In its press release, Pfizer said it will provide "a comprehensive, transparent and full refund" to all pharmaceutical companies that receive a payment or settlement, including those who have failed to pay.

It will also provide "advisable company representatives to provide updates on pending litigation and to share in any future financial or litigation expenses," it said.

Pfizer said it will make "changes to the current and future financial guidance of its current shareholders," to help fund future operations.

"For more than a year, Pfizer has been focused on developing and improving the drug industry's growth potential in the form of novel drugs, particularly those developed to treat a range of conditions related to heart, lung, blood, and brain function," Pfizer said.

Pfizer said it would "continue to provide additional payments to current shareholders" for its current earnings and future earnings projections.

In addition, Pfizer said it will make "an important payment to resolve any future cases involving the development and use of Celebrex," including those related to the ongoing litigation related to the drug.

In a statement, Pfizer said that "we have a commitment to continue to provide an uninterrupted supply of our drugs, and to work with our partner companies to secure a fair and effective future," and that it "continues to continue to support the efforts of our customers to make a fair and fair return on our medicines."

In addition to the drugmaker's announcement, Pfizer also said it will "ensure that all pharmaceutical companies and their partners are involved in this agreement" and will work with them to secure a fair return on their investments, Pfizer said.

Pfizer said the settlement will be "not for financial reasons but for the benefit of the company and its shareholders" and will be made "on a contingency fee basis" and will not be paid for any payments.

Pfizer also said it will pay "the full cost of any future payments, including any fines, judgments, and penalties we may impose," Pfizer said.

The FDA has issued a new warning to consumers who have been using the arthritis drug Celebrex, which is known as a “pain reliever.”

The FDA, however, says Celebrex can have an “irreversible and potentially fatal effect” if taken with a daily low-dose of the drug. The new warning is based on studies that have shown an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and heart failure.

The drug was initially developed as a treatment for high blood pressure in people with heart disease. But it is being sold under the brand name Celebrex.

The drug is being tested in people who have recently had a heart attack, a heart valve problem or a type of heart disease known as a“pulmonary embolism,”or

a blood clot in the lungs. Celebrex has been linked to a rare but serious side effect, which may cause a blood clot in the lungs if taken with the drug.

Celebrex was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2002 and the drug was later approved for use by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration in 2003. The FDA said the drug was not safe in the first place and there was no evidence that it caused serious health problems. The drug was also not approved to treat patients with a heart condition known as”coronary artery disease.”

The FDA issued the following warnings about Celebrex to consumers who have taken the drug in a daily dose of 2.5 milligrams.

The warning came after a number of years of research on how well the drug can protect the kidneys, the blood and the brain from the damage caused by the drug. Celebrex was initially developed as a treatment for high blood pressure and a type of heart disease called angina. But it wasn’t until 2006 that a new study discovered that celecoxib, a medication used to treat arthritis, also had a protective effect.

Celebrex, as the drug was marketed, has not been studied extensively. So it’s not surprising that the FDA has warned consumers about this side effect.

In a study published in the journalPharmacol Biochemistry, researchers analyzed data from a total of 2,818 patients who were prescribed the drug for arthritis and who had been taking it for about six months. The researchers then looked at the data from the 2,818 patients who had taken the drug for six months. The researchers found that the patients in the study had experienced heart attacks and strokes more often than those taking the drug for one year.

The researchers also found that celecoxib had a similar effect on the kidneys. Celebrex had a similar effect on the brain. Researchers concluded that the increased risk of heart attack, stroke and heart failure were likely due to the drug’s inhibition of certain enzymes.

The FDA’s warning comes as a bit of a relief to the pain of arthritis.

“The safety of the drug has been established by several clinical studies,” said Dr. Michael F. Leucht, a professor of medicine and director of the division of cardiovascular disease. “It has been demonstrated that the drug can lower blood pressure and may have other beneficial effects.”

The FDA does not recommend that anyone who has taken the drug use medication with other heart medications, such as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, stop taking the medication. However, the FDA’s warning does suggest a possible link between the use of the drug and increased heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.

The drug can also cause liver problems, and the FDA recommends that people who take the drug take it with blood thinners and other drugs, as well as with certain drugs that have been linked to liver problems.

Celebrex is currently on the U. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s label.

The FDA has issued a warning about a rare but serious side effect known as “heart failure,” which can be caused by the drug’s inhibition of certain enzymes.

The FDA has warned consumers who have taken the drug that the risk of this side effect increases with daily doses of the drug. The FDA has also cautioned that these risks are unlikely to be reversed with the use of the drug.

The FDA also warns about the possibility of the drug causing heart attacks and stroke in patients who have had a heart attack, a heart valve problem or a blood clot in the lungs.
